ABOUT ME
My name is Vikas Chandan and I hail from Ranchi, a small and beautiful city in Eastern India. I am a very curious and hard-working person, for whom career comes first among all other things in the world. I was born in Patna (East India) but my family migrated to Ranchi, when I was just 3 years of age. All my schooling was done in Ranchi before studying mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. At present, I am working as an Assistant Manager with Tata Motors Limited, the largest Indian automobile manufacturer.
I have a penchant for doing things perfectly and enthusiastically. Throughout my academic career, I have never studied for scoring marks in examinations. Learning and understanding have been the sole impetus behind all my efforts. Motivated by my interest in academics and my capability to think logically, I am desirous of a career in Mechanical Engineering Research and teaching. Apart from academics, I enjoy sketching, painting and music.
On a personal level, I am very passionate about my life and tend to analyse myself deeply. To me, an ideal life is one which strikes a perfect balance between professional and personal responsibilities and I am still working towards attaining it. I savor the company of people, but am also comfortable being alone at times, introspecting. Above all, I am a proud citizen of India and wish that one day I shall contribute towards the welfare of my country.

1. Dec 26, 2005 when I was selected from campus for my first job at Tata Motors.
2. Spring Semester 2004 at IIT, when for the first time I obtained a semester GPA of more than 9.0.
3. May 05, 2002 when I wrote JEE - the biggest examination of my life , success in which turned my life forever.
